Floater & Substitute Staff

Floater / Substitute Staff – Special Education School


Pay: $16.00–$17.00 per hour
Job Type: Part-time / Full-time
Schedule: As-needed / variable, based on school coverage needs
Location: Kids Academy Special Education
Work Location: In person


About the Position

Kids Academy Special Education is looking for reliable, compassionate, and flexible individuals to join our team as Floater and Substitute Staff.

Our school supports students with autism and developmental disabilities. We are seeking team members who are passionate about creating a safe, supportive, and positive learning environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support teachers and classroom staff with daily classroom activities. 
  • Assist with student transitions, routines, and supervision. 
  • Provide coverage for teachers, assistants, and other staff as needed. 
  • Support students during lunch, recess, arrival, dismissal, and other school activities. 
  • Help maintain a safe, organized, and structured classroom environment. 
  • Follow individualized student support plans and school procedures. 
  • Provide support during staff breaks and coverage needs. 
  • Collaborate respectfully with teachers, behavior specialists, and administration. 
  • Be flexible and willing to work across different classrooms and grade levels. 

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children is preferred. 
  • Experience with special education, autism, ABA, or developmental disabilities is a plus. 
  • Patient, dependable, and adaptable. 
  • Ability to work as part of a collaborative team. 
  • Willingness to learn and follow school procedures and student support plans. 
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality.
