Behavior Assistant

 

Pay: $16.00–$17.00 per hour
Job Type: Part-time / Full-time
Location: Kids Academy Special Education
Work Location: In person


About the Position

We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Behavior Assistant to join our team in supporting children and individuals with developmental disabilities, including autism spectrum disorders.

In this role, you will support individualized behavior intervention strategies, assist with daily activities, and collect data to help track student progress. Your dedication will contribute to creating meaningful learning experiences and improving students' quality of life.

This position also provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in behavioral health and special education while working alongside a supportive team.

Responsibilities

  • Assist students with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including hygiene, grooming, and basic self-care tasks. 
  • Promote independence and confidence through daily routines and structured support. 
  • Implement behavior intervention strategies under supervision. 
  • Follow individualized care and support plans. 
  • Provide direct behavioral support tailored to each student's needs. 
  • Support skill development for students with autism and other developmental disabilities. 
  • Collect and document relevant data to help monitor student progress. 
  • Collaborate with teachers, behavior specialists, and other team members. 
  • Maintain a safe, respectful, and supportive environment. 

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children or individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred. 
  • Experience with autism, ABA, special education, or neurodevelopmental disorders is a plus. 
  • Ability to assist with ADLs and structured teaching methods. 
  • Patient, compassionate, and professional. 
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. 
  • Willingness to learn and follow individualized support plans and school procedures.
